Health Services Advisory Group (HSAG) invites you to attend this educational webinar event about the Quality Payment Program (QPP) and how it relates to Antibiotic Stewardship (AS). This webinar will provide a high-level overview of the QPP system and how AS in the outpatient setting can help meet participation requirements. Hear from subject matter experts from HSAG and Wright State University on the topic of QPP and AS.

Objectives:

  • Provide an overview of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) QPP.
  • Explain how the outpatient AS initiative can help meet QPP requirements. 
  • Identify the components of a successful outpatient AS program.

Dr. Steven Burdette is a Professor of Medicine with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine where he serves as the Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship. He completed medical school, internal medicine residency, and his infectious diseases fellowship at Wright State. He is a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Burdette serves as the Medical Director of Employee Health for Kettering Health Network and the Director of Infectious Diseases at Greene Memorial Hospital. In addition, he serves Medical Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship for Miami Valley Hospital and Premier Health and spends a significant amount of his clinical time reviewing antibiotic prescribing patterns at a level 1 trauma/tertiary care center and provides real time recommendations to improve the treatment of various infectious diseases. Administratively, he is the chairman of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee for Premier Health and is a member of the Clinical Affairs Committee for the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Burdette has authored over 30 PubMed referenced articles and 15 book chapters.

Chris Fechner, BS
Health Informatics Specialist, HSAG

Chris Fechner is a Health Informatics Specialists with HSAG who specializes in working directly with physician offices regarding any issues they have involving Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) legislation. He has more than four years of experience with Medicare reimbursement programs and is a subject-matter expert of the Medicare Incentive Payment System (MIPS) program.
